.HAIBOSENSOR waterproof strain gauges are encapsulated in a special flexible resin, providing a water-resistant structure suitable for both outdoor and underwater applications when installed with adhesive. Operation Manual

  • This series of strain gauges is designed for high-precision stress analysis. Pay special attention to the following microstructure and procedures to ensure measurement accuracy:
  • The ambient temperature for bonding should be below 25°C, and humidity below 60% RH.
  • Polish the measurement area with 300-grit sandpaper. The polishing pattern should intersect the strain gauge axis at approximately 45 degrees and be perpendicular to it. The polished area must be larger than the footprint of the strain gauge. Finally, clean the area with an organic solvent.
  • Use a brush to apply a thin, uniform layer of adhesive to the back of the strain gauge and the measurement area, brushing in a specific direction. Avoid getting adhesive on the front side of the gauge.
  • Align the strain gauge with the marking lines and press it onto the bonding area. Cover it with a PTFE film and apply firm thumb pressure for one minute. Subsequently, remove the PTFE film.
  • Testing must be conducted within 2 hours after the strain gauge is bonded.
  • Throughout the installation, ensure wires and solder joints are not subjected to significant stress. If necessary, disconnect wires or solder points. Always secure wires firmly.
